American Legion Post 665 Cornhole Tournament Rules and Info

Tournament Format

• BAGS AND BOARDS PROVIDED (No personal bags allowed)
• Single elimination tournament
• Teams consist of two players
• Bracket seeding will be randomized immediately after the last team has checked in
• There may be a "Play-in" round to ensure a clean bracket in the Semifinals

Gameplay

• Games are played to 21 points, the first to reach or exceed 21 is the winner
• No bust rule
• Each player throws 4 bags per round
• Players must remain behind the foul line while throwing
• The team who scored in the preceding inning has the honor of going first in the next inning, if no points were scored the team who pitched first in the preceding frame shall retain first pitch in the next frame

Scoring

• Bag in the hole = 3 points
• Bag on the board = 1 point
• Only one team scores per round using cancellation scoring

Fouls

• Stepping past the front of the board prior to releasing the bag results in a foul throw
• Any bag that contacts the court or ground before coming to rest on the board
• Foul bags are removed before scoring
• Unsportsmanlike conduct may result in disqualification

Sportsmanship

• Respect all players and officials
• No excessive profanity or disruptive behavior
• Tournament officials have final say on disputes

Check-In

• Teams must check in by 9:15 AM
• Teams not checked in may forfeit their spot and their registration fees

Prizes

• Payouts based on total team participation (entry fees returned at a minimum)
• Prize structure subject to adjustment by organizers but will be set by 830 p.m. 17 July and posted on the tournament website under the Prize Payout section

Miscellaneous

• Personal alcohol is allowed in non-glass containers UNTIL the beer tent opens at noon
• Food may be availabe for purchase depending on vendor availability
